CoachesĀ provide individual monthly life coaching to students of AWE Camp as they go through their ninth grade year. Coaches assist students to focus on successfully achieving goals that they set while maintaining a life balance and having fun.
Terri Jerue
Terri is the daughter of Frank Jerue and granddaughter of Wilson and Barbara Jerue from Holy Cross, Alaska. She was born and raised in Anchorage with her five siblings. Terri comes from a culturally rich family with traditional Athabascan values. When Terri was 19 years old, she began working with Doyon Universal Services, a subsidiary of Doyon Limited, as a receptionist. There grew her career from administrative duties to Accounting and finally to Human Resources where she became certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). After 12 years working with the Doyon Family of Companies, she moved on to CH2M HILL as a Human Resource Generalist. Terri is a graduate of the second class of DMT where she attributes her foundation for leadership and direction in her personal and professional life. Terri strives to give back and pay forward her teachings to the younger generations and is passionate about personal growth and development. Ms. Jerue has two boys, Johnny 14 and Elias 4, who are the highlight of her life. She enjoys family and friends while maintaining a life balance.
Rosetta Alcantra
Born and raised in Alaska, Rosetta has had the opportunity to grow up in the villages of Anvik, McGrath and King Cove. She credits her childhood in the villages with grounding her in her Athabascan/Aleut heritage. Rosetta currently lives in Palmer with her husband John and their four children: Neillan, Almeria, Brodie and Te’shya. She is an active member of the community and enjoys playing basketball, running, quilting, scrapbooking and volunteering for her children’s various sporting and club activities. Rosetta is employed by a national engineering firm, HDR Alaska, Inc., where she provides public outreach and tribal consultation expertise. Rosetta is a 2006 graduate of the DMT. Rosetta is passionate about giving back to her community and doing the best she can to raise her children. She believes that no matter how big or small our actions, we all have a responsibility to make a difference. DMT made this impression on her and she is excited to help AGEYA provide this opportunity to young people across the state.
